Have you tried out Groupon yet? It's this very cool site that offers a new deal every day for a local business. If enough people buy into a deal, then it is on and you get the deal. I have been following the Seattle one and there are lots of cheap haircuts, facials, restaurant deals, etc. I also follow the old town that I used to live in - Louisville. Today I scored a great deal on a Bed & Breakfast spot that we will be giving to my in-laws. You can give these deals as gifts. I also have taken advantage of Portland offers because I know that we will get down their for a visit soon enough!

UPDATE: Looks like this deal is now dead, since someone bought ~800 bottles and pissed off the Kroger Co. and they pulled the catalina!

So I just found out that you can get Purex for free this week at Fred Meyer - pretty hot! I went and did 2 transactions :) But, if you can be patient and get a raincheck (or a few rainchecks...) it is even hotter!

Right now Purex is on sale 2/$5, but there is an in-ad Q making it $1.99 ea. So:

And a catalina Q will print out for $4 onyo!!! You just pay tax - pretty hot right?

Any item that is free after RR is a $$$maker today! I picked up the Dove men's bodywash, Joint Juice, 3 Musketeers and Huggies today. Make sure to bring a printout of this coupon or be a papersaver and get it on your cellphone (text HEART to 21525) and checkout at either the cosmetics dept or photo dept (they are the only registers with the employee 15% button).

Overage Opportunities This Week

So, I had another open house and after looking at all the ads, I just wasn't pumped to type up all the not-so-great deals this week. Instead, I'll share some little overage secrets:

Walgreens:

There are Preparation H travel wipes alongside the other Prep H products that are priced $3.99. Go here and print off as many $3 MQs as you would like. Then pull the $2 ESC Q out and you have overage!

Prep H pack = $3.99
MQ = -$3
ESC Q = -$2

Total = $1.01 overage!

Rite Aid:

Today I found the travel size John Frieda hairsprays were on clearance at my store. Use with the $3/2 tearpad Qs:

3 - John Frieda hairsprays = $2.67
$3/2 MQ = -$3
Rite Aid rebate when you buy 3 John Frieda products = -$5

Total = $5.33 overage!

I couldn't find the St. Ives (Elements?) that has a BOGO Q in the paper, so I bought 2 of the .99 St. Ives lotions and used 2 $1/1 Qs = 2 free lotions and $1.01 overage!

The FAR Crest toothpaste has a .75 P&G Q, so that is .75 overage. Plus, FAR items are a great way to hide your overage!

Of course, the BeFine thing is still working - so get them while this coupon still works!

Please remember to be kind to other couponers and make sure to cover your overage with other products and don't go overboard with your purchases, so that the cashiers don't tattle on us for our good finds.

Here's the best scenario:

Buy 5 Yo-Plus yogurt packs = $10
Automatic $$$ off = -$2
Use 5 - $1 Qs (here, here, here, here, here or from last week's box tops insert) = -$5
Total = .60 for each 4-pack, not bad since that is about what one container usually costs!

There is also a Spend $20 on Unilever products, Save $5 instantly promo:

The most exciting thing is probably the Wisk/All detergent scenario:

Buy 6 Wisk/All = $20
Automatic $$ off = -$5
Use 6 $1 All coupons from here or from this month's All You issue = -$6
or use 6 $1.50 Wisk coupons from 7/13 RedPlum insert = -$9

So, depending on your Qs, you could be paying $9 or $6 for 6 detergents. This isn't as sweet as this deal, but still not a bad stock up price. I had to get a raincheck, since they were totally out of my favorite type for a few weeks - but well worth it in the end!

You may also want to mix in some Wishbone dressing, since that has some .60 Qs out there or Lipton has a $1 Q here or in the May paper inserts (long time ago!)

Albies also has Goldfish crackers BOGO, they end up being 2/$2.49.

Note: If you haven't done your Kellogg's $10 rebate, I might suggest using the Safeway Super Coupons, along with the Albies Kellogg's coupon to get a great deal on some cereal.

The back page of the ad with all of the produce is hilarious - just read the 1 or 2 words under each item (Sweet, Ripe, Juicy Sweet, Solid Head, Good for You) - just made me giggle a little.

Safeway:

Honestly, I'm probably skipping Safeway this week. Looks pretty lame.

If you haven't used up your free 12-pack vouchers from mycokerewards.com, then you could use them this week, since they're B2,G2 free. By the way, mycokerewards isn't offering the free 12-pack vouchers right now, I've heard that it is a cyclical thing, so maybe later in the year it will come back.

I would use the Kellogg's super Qs with the Albies Kellogg's Q, so that you can actually get close to 10 products at the really good sale prices for the $10 rebate.

Great overage possibility!!! There was a Rite Aid coupon book that came out in the paper today and my Rite Aid had copies of it as well - on page 5 is a $5 Q for Befine Skin Care. The picture above is one of the $1.99 single serve packs. They are located in one of the cardboard display thingies with all of the other new beauty products. The $5 Q works, no problem = instant $3 overage!!!!!!!!

Grocery Deals This Week 8/6

Yep, I know this is late, but my mail lady has it in for me - I swear! On Tuesday I got the Safeway ad (boring), the Top Foods ad and the coupon insert - no Albertsons!!! I kept hoping that somehow the mail fairies would bring me one, alas, no. So I had to go online and look (it's just not the same, I'm one of those folks that likes to flip through it and touch it...) Here's what I see -

Albertsons:

Huge ad, but not so many awesome deals. Their Buy 10, Get $5 back is filled with a bunch of products that seem overpriced or pretty darn snack-foody to me. It does make it pretty easy if you're trying to do the Kellogg's $10 rebate deal, since you can buy 10 Kellogg's products and get the $5 off. Still paying $20 bucks...so, I may have to skip it.

I do love free yogurt! Darigold is .50 and there are $1/2 Qs from 2 inserts ago. Woo-hoo!

I've heard mention of the Ken's Lite dressings being $1, so depending on your Albies (you may be able to get overage with the $2 Qs from last week's insert). Anybody know if this one is true?

Safeway:

I was able to use Safeway's 4/$6 Cheerios Super Coupon at Albertsons with these $1 Cheerios Qs = .50 a box. You can also use these $1 Qs on regular Cheerios as well. Not awesome, but since I do the self-check I got a $1.50 catalina coupon that I was able to use on this order as well, making it .50 for all 4 boxes!!!

Kinda bad when the only great deal I can find is to take their coupon to another store!

Oh, not sure what's up with this crazy ad - but Tava is marked 3/$9, but then it says 3/$5 really small in the corner??? If that is true then you can get a great deal with this $1.50 printable here, here or here. Also, this is the deal where I scored at Safeway when I had a raincheck for this price and it was part of the Summer Promo.

Top Foods:

They've got a pretty interesting Kellogg's promo going on - Buy $20 (10 Kellog's items), Get $20 voucher for your next shopping trip. You could buy $20 worth of stuff, send in for your $10 rebate = $10 total, plus $20 off your next purchase. Not too shabby!

I also like their free milk with your $25 purchase Q. I might partner that with the Kellogg's promo or just take it to Albies :)

Okay, I have no idea how I missed it the first time...but I got the Kellogg's insert in this Sunday's paper! The awesome part is that it includes a $10 mail-in rebate when you buy 10 Kellogg's products in one transaction. This goes really well with the Kellogg's deals at Rite-Aid and Walgreens this week. If you don't feel like doing the drugstore thing, I checked over at Hot Coupon World and Albertson's will be doing a buy 10 items, get $5 off thing and guess what's included - Kellogg's products! Perfect! You'll have to wait until Wednesday (which isn't a big issue because the rebate doesn't start until tomorrow 8/5 anyway)

Also, I'm excited about the Buy $5 worth of Pert Plus/Sure products and $5 of school supplies $5 mail-in rebate. This should go wonderfully with the FAR Pert at Walgreens.

First off, I have no idea how I got so much overage at Safeway, but I'll take it! Here's what I did:

12 Tava (I used my 3/$5 raincheck and 12 $1.50 MQ - these are all over the coupon sites and don't expire until 1/09!) = .16 each

6 12-packs of Coke (I used my B2G3 raincheck, my 2 free Coke 12-pack vouchers from mycokerewards.com and it overlapped with the B2/G1 sale they were having - Thanks Tiff!) = 6 free

1 Frito-Lay chips (I was hungry, what can I say?) =$1.88

1 Ensure shakes (good for when I'm not in the mood to make lunch, used $3 printable) = $3.99

1 Hunt's ketchup (will mail in for TMF rebate if I don't like it) = $1.95

Now, I have no idea what the cashier did with my rainchecks, but she ended up deciding that my total should be -$15.38. Yes, she actually gave me $15.38 out of the till and a $10 catalina from buying 15 promo items. I swear that I asked her to check her math, but she seemed pretty certain that I was due that much overage and she had no problem handing me cash. Umm...okay!

Target:

5 Colgate Totals (used 5 -$1 Target Qs and 5 -$1.50 MQs) = .92 overage each one!

I am going to make $6.48 after everything! As you can tell I did quite a few transactions!!! And no, I did not clean out the Walgreens that I went to, there were still plenty of diapers and training pants for other couponers to get. Also, I will be donating whatever I don't end up giving to friends or stockpiling.

Walgreens:

Made use of the July/August ESC overlap as well as the pharmacy coupon for the diapers and training pants. I did the math and I ended up with $3.03 overage each time, so I used that to buy little things that I needed: Candy for keeping me awake while I grade boring COEs, .05 mechanical pencils, FreshSacks diaper bags (will send in for this rebate), diaper cream, FAR G2 pens and Crayola markers.

I used my some of my $5 RRs from the diapers to finally buy JULY's FAR items - Therabreath kit, NatureMade vitamins, and the yummy chocolate bar!

Office Depot:

I ran in really quickly to pick up my free after rebate scientific calculator - nice deal! I thought for sure they wouldn't have any left.

Staples:

I guess that I missed the .01 and .05 supply deals, but I did get some of the super cute Zadoodles pencils that were FAR.

All said and done (including sale prices, rebates and coupons) I saved $220.22 and will actually make $6.48 (that is taking into account the tax that I paid), plus I still have $20 in RR to use!!!! Wow!!!

Thanks for the kind comments - I really appreciate it! I guess I need to work on my tough blogger skin :) As I mentioned in the last post, there are only a few things that I'll be heading out to get this week:

Albertsons:

After the last few weeks of incredible deals (I even tried to print more HBoO coups on every computer I came across!), there's really not much. Yes, there is a Spend $25, Get $10 Off Instantly deal, but it's all stuff that seems to go on sale much cheaper if you just wait. Also, the matching coupons are all for .50 or .55 off (great if you live in the land of doubles, but that's not my world!)

If I'm there anyway - maybe to get some .38/lb cantaloupe? - I might do the following:

Buy 2, Get 2 Air Wick aerosol sprays - use 2 of the BOGO Qs from the last paper and you should get all 4 free!

.69 Powerade (use with $1 or .75 Qs for some overage)

Have you been able to find the $1.24 small packs of CleanTeam wipes? These are awesome with the $3/2 Qs from the last mailer!

Safeway:

Here's one place that I'm not really feeling the love lately. They absolutely refuse to stock Tava - I have this great raincheck for 3/$5, but have been unable to use it for over a month!!! I've tried to special order it - nothing! Also, I have had a very difficult time with their promos, the catalina never prints out like it should and then I have to explain to the manager what the promo is and why I should get my cat. By the way, a catalina coupon is the skinny coupon that prints from the machine next to the receipt printer. At Walgreens these are the way you get your Register Rewards.

Safeway seems to have jacked their prices way up on everything involved with the Summer Promo and it's hard to do really well on this without wandering the store and bringing lots of coupons. That's what I've found at least. I was so excited about the $1 tofu that I was hearing about that worked for the promo (my baby loves this coated in brown sugar and baked) and so I went trying to stock up - nope, it's $1.50 here. That's why I bought 6 packs of hot dogs (they were only $1 and I know I'm going to be BBQing)!

Let's take some time and leave a comment about things that you have found (in NW prices) that fit this promo! Here's my list:

The Kraft Singles are finally on sale (still $4.99!!!!), but you can buy some cheap qualifying items and use your Parade magazine free Kraft Singles Q.
Are the Oscar Meyer Hot Dogs still $1? That's a great price!
Excedrin Back & Body 24 ct. is $2.99 and has a mail-in rebate and there are Qs out there.
If you have the $1 Nabisco tearpad Qs, these work on a few of the crackers that qualify and will knock the price down to $1.50-$2. Also nice if you have any of the free Kraft cheese peelies when you buy 2 boxes of Nabisco crackers. The deli sliced cheese are under the price of the Q.
Betty Crocker Cake mix is $1.50 and I am in LOVE with these cookies and so I'm buying a bunch of these!!! Mommy Making Money is such a kick-butt blog!

Also, did you grab the Free Nivea Lip Care Rebate form in the RedPlum insert that came with the grocery ads this week? Nice! There was also a Flex-a-min $5 Q if you want to try the Rite Aid rebate deal, but it's not nearly as sweet without the BOGO of last week.

Lastly, there is a free shampoo/conditioner opportunity at Walgreens - the Pantene Pro-V is 2/$8 and there is a $4/2 ESR and if you use 2-$2 Qs from the P&G insert = 2 free (these smell mega good P.S.) And I've heard that there are Bic highlighters that are 2/$1 and here is a $1/2 Q.

My Target has Colgate Total on clearance for $1.58 and there is a $1 Target Q here and $1.50 Manu. Q here. Potential overage!

So, I haven't updated my blog in a while and frankly, it was because I was feeling like nobody was reading it! It's really hard to put the time into finding the deals and coupons while getting my house ready to sell and then no comments....none!!!! I kept thinking that the last few posts would warrant something - but sadly, no. Thus, my weeklong pouting session. Now I'm over it, but won't be blogging that much since I'm back to work for a couple of weeks. Yep, grading the WASL Alternative Math Portfolios.

The diaper deal is back!!! Diapers are again $5.99. Buy 3 and use the ESC Q and the Pharmacy Q, pay $4.47 plus tax and get $5 RR! This is definitely still working (I checked myself with some training pants).

Safeway:

My first trip to do the Summer Marathon Promo didn't go so well, but here's what I did this last time:

6 Oscar Meyer Hot Dogs (on sale for $1 each, counted as my Oscar Meyer products for the free cheese)

2 Kraft Singles (used free cheese Qs from the Parade magazine)

1 Oscar Meyer Turkey Bacon (used $1 Q from a magazine insert -Women's Day?)

3 Marathon bars ($1.25 each)

1 EAS bar (used free Q from a mail-in offer)

1 Excedrin Back and Body (used $2 MQ and $1 Store Q - will send in for mail-in rebate)

1 Betty Crocker Cake mix

The rest of the stuff wasn't part of the promo:

1 Fat-free milk

4 Soy Dream soymilks

1 Box of brown sugar

Used $10 off from last promo attempt and $1 cat from the last time I bought Excedrin, so my total was $12.81. Plus, I got a $10 cat from the promo and $1 cat from the soymilk and I'll be sending in for the full rebate for the Excedrin!

Albertsons was awesome last week, but I'm not seeing any great deals this week. I'll check over the ad some more tonight.

A few deals that I didn't mention:

Purina Dog and Cat food is $3.49, use this $4 Q to make some money! (You have to fill out the info to get the coupon, but it's a good cause and free dog/cat food when you're done! Make sure to hit the back button, so that you can print 2 Qs!)
Lysol Neutra Air is BOGO, use your BOGO Qs from last month's and this month's papers to get 2 free!
There is a hidden deal with the Flex-a-min Glucosamine (the red topped bottle, 60 ct., not in a box). It is BOGO this week for $12.99. You can use 2 of the $5 Qs from the paper a while back and then both should qualify for a SCR. Potential $$$ = ~$7 and free glucosamine! This deal is good all month.
Also, the John Frieda travel-size hairspray is reportedly working for the SCR. Buy 3 and get $5, then use the $3/2 or $1/1 tearpad Qs from the cardboard display to make more $$. I couldn't find any of these, but I'll keep looking. Good moneymaker! This deal is good all month.

I paid $4.52 (my subtotal was only $1.97!), but if all goes well with my rebates, then I should be getting $10 back = a profit of $5.48! I'll let you know!

I actually had a cashier apologize to me because she had turned away my internet coupons last time that I was there. I guess after I left, she had a meeting with her manager and now they accept internet coupons. YMMV (your mileage may vary), but the RA that I hated shopping at, is now a bit better. Plus, my doggies love free dog food!

4 New Books for .52!!!!

I was so excited when I read about Half Price Books' Summer Reading Program because I love books and the program doesn't have a minimum age!!! We read to our baby every day before naps and nighttime so I definitely think that should count! Here's the deal:

Go to Half Price Books and pick up some reading logs (the program runs from June 1-August 2, so 8 logs???)

Fill them out and return them to the store for $3 gift cards - you get one card for each week.

You cannot use the cards in the same transaction, so you will have to break up your purchases into separate transactions. Best deal is to buy books that are right around $3.

Here's what I got for .52:

3 Sparkly DK books $2.98 each (these are brand new and I love them because they have pics of real little girls playing dress-up!)

1 Make Believe Princess book $3.49 (also brand new!)

I didn't pay tax on anything under $3, so the first three books were totally free! I will be going back to turn in the rest of my logs by August 2 for sure! Also, if you are a teacher they have a great teacher discount card.

I did a quick run to Albies yesterday to use up the 3 remaining Planters Qs that I had and take advantage of the last day of the Planters cat. I needed yakisoba noodles to use up the snow peas and broccoli that I had from my veggie box this week. So here's what I got:

Pretty lame RR week, I'm glad I rolled my diaper RRs on batteries last week. Nothing that I'm dying to do.

If you haven't done the Hershey's movie deal, you can get 6 Hershey's bags 2/$5 or 8 Twizzlers 2/$4 and then get $5 back when you buy $15 worth (EasySaver Catalog rebate).

You can also use your BOGO Q for L'Oreal to get 2 free here as well.

I'm hoping for a $$/$$$ Q this week. Then maybe I'll make the trek to Walgreens!

Walgreens Diaper Deal Works!

I went to Walgreens on my way to the George Michael concert last night (yep, I know you're jealous - it was phenomenal!) and the diaper deal really works! I did it twice because I had 2 RRs to use up. It really does work out to $4.47 + tax and you will get a $5 RR! I also took advantage of the BOGO Sure deodorant (which is a mail-in form, not a Q). I used 2 - $1 MQ and the $3 ESQ (EasySaver Coupon) and I just put the stamp on my BOGO rebate, so I should make $2 on my 2 deodorants. I also asked for my Qs back from the diaper deal and they gave them back to me. The Asst. Manager came over and asked how I did it so that he could tell his wife!

Some things to be aware of with the diaper deal:

I was not able to get the Qs to scan on the diapers that were marked 'W', they have to say 'Walgreens'. I think they are trying to phase out the older packaging.
The limits on the Qs do not matter, so you should be doing 3 per transaction with no problem. Don't be a meanie and do this deal so many times that everyone else misses out though!
You can mix and match sizes and diapers/training pants, but they need to be the Jumbo size packages (they are $5.99 this week).
Remember that you can't roll your RRs on the same deal so if you use your $5 RR from this deal to do it again, you won't get a new RR.

Received $12 in Catalina Qs for my next trip, so really this trip cost: $11.61!!! Nice!

There is also an ES Rebate for some Kraft products where you get $5 for buying $15 worth of products. Planters peanuts are included! Freebies 4 Mom found a link for new $3 Planters coupons! So you can print 2 more!

There are cleaners and air freshners that are 2/$3 after rebate. Many of them have coupons and so are very cheap after rebate and coupons (here are some Woolite and Spray and Wash coupons and there were Scrubbing Bubbles coupons in the paper a little while ago).

Scunci Hair accessories are 3/$10 with a $5 RR.

Post cereals are 2/$5 and you get a $2 RR (this includes HBoO!!) So you can make some RRs if you have the free cereal coupons. Otherwise, this is a pretty good price for Grape-nuts and Shredded Wheat which don't seem to be on sale often.

Centsible Shopper has the July FAR items. Not sure if these coupons will work on the Therabreath Starter Kit, but that kit includes most of the items.

Rite-Aid:

Oxy Face Wash or Shaving Cream is free after SCR. Use one of the $1 Qs from the last few papers to make $$

There is a 3-Day rebate on Giovanni Shampoo or Conditioner (good until 7/1), so it is free after SCR as well.

So I made the mistake of putting down my coupons for a second and my cashier pounced on them! I had them all organized to make sure that I could get overage on my Maalox (I had read that you need to give 1 Wag coupon, then manuf. coupons, then the other Wag coupon to make this work) and she proceeded to take out all of the Wag coupons and try those first, then head to the manuf. coupons. Needless to say, I was totally thrown and had a hard time watching the coupons go through, so I don't know exactly what worked and what didn't! To her credit, she was really trying to help and she did hook me up by using the cat. coupon for the Dixie plates on this order rather than making me wait to use it on my next order (her idea, not mine!). So from what I can tell, the double ESC coupons worked for the Nutripals and the M&Ms, but not the Maalox.

Here's what I got with my $5/$20 Q:

3 Liquid Maalox (used $2 MQ and $2 ESQ)

2 Maalox Chewables (used $1.50 MQ and $2 ESQ)

2 Theragran-M Vitamins (used $4 WQ and they were BOGO)

Here's to a link to another $5/$20 purchase coupon to Walgreens, tomorrow (6/27) only. Why they really want us to shop there on Fridays, I don't know, but I'll take it! It again has the wording that the minimum subtotal must be $20 after coupons, but the last one worked with manuf. coupons. It is definitely true that the $20 subtotal must be after Wag coupons. Here are some options for your purchase:

Okay, so I actually am pretty new to this whole couponing thing (just a few months now), but I am quickly being educated by personal experience, helpful cashiers, and great forums like Slickdeals and Hot Coupon World. What I have come to realize is that you have to create your own guidelines or rules about how to use coupons. If you have been reading the frenzy surrounding the Free Thomas Train coupon (which by the way has been replaced by a different coupon that is only good until 6/26 - print the NEW coupon on the forum link), you'll realize that there are some folks who have some very different ideas about how to use coupons (I was personally a bit shocked by the folks who have used the coupon like 100 times!!!) Are you serious?! So it is time for me to sit down and think about what are my rules:

If a coupon doesn't beep, then it's totally legit to use it. Here's my example: The Huggies coupons that are out there, work on any Huggies product. You can use the $1 diapers, to buy wipes. It doesn't beep, so I don't see a problem with it. I guess Manager Rob's statement that "the company just wants you to buy their products" makes sense to me.
If a coupon states "Limit one per person" the most I will do is 2, since my daughter is usually shopping with me and she counts as a person. Also, I don't think that 2 is going to clear out stock, now if you're talking 5, 10, 15...that's when you're cutting into the fun of other couponers. How much does it suck to get to the store and none of the products that you are looking for are there? I personally had to limit myself with the recent Reynold's Wrap sale because I had lots of coupons that I had bought off the internet, but I didn't want to clear out their store. After a few trips and a few different stores, I ended up with 13 anyway!
If a company puts a coupon in .pdf form, then it is okay to share it. If you have a .pdf coupon, then it will not have a unique barcode (ex: The Blue Bunny $1 coupon), so it is perfectly okay to share with others. It is not okay to post copies of coupons that you get from the paper or that have unique barcodes (like the coupons that you print on coupons.com).
I will take extra peelies and tearpad coupons to use at other stores or at a later date, but I always try and make sure that I am taking what I will use and that I am leaving some for the person who is buying that product right now.

I guess that overall, I try and make sure that I'm not doing anything that will make it so that a company doesn't get their money back from the manufacturer. Like, I just found a bunch of $5 formula checks in my "craft" room(also known as crap room, cause it has become the dumping ground) and boy was I tempted to use them - I mean it's $5!!! But I knew it wasn't right, so I just resigned up at those sites to see if I was eligible to receive more. Yep, they just came in the mail the other day.

I checked my mailbox today - over $65 in checks!!! My Rite Aid SCR rebate check, my rebate from my Handi-Vacs and $10 from a survey that I did. So great! I also had a good day shopping - is my house clean?! - nope! But I got some great deals! Above is my Albies trip. Here is what I love about Albertsons:

Self-check lanes - you can make sure that each coupon goes through and you can use the coupons that print right away!

You can use promo catalinas on the same promo (like I used the $5 cat that I got from the last time that I did the Baby Care deal and I got a new $5 cat at the end of the transaction!)

They take competitors coupons! They took my Target $5/2 Pampers coupon and my $1 off of Colgate coupon no problem!

I paid $10.96 for all the stuff above and walked out with a fistful of new coupons and a $5 catalina for my next trip!

*While you're at Albies, take advantage of this deal that CJ found: Check out blue diamond almonds (8 oz jar like container) at Albertsons- 2/$5 with a $1/1 coupon available and you get a $1.50 OYNO when you buy 2. So that ends up being 75 cents a jar after 2 coupons! For ALMONDS! *

On to other good news - My local Toys R' Us still had Thomas trains left, so I picked up 2 of those for free. So cute!

I also picked up my free 100 ct. prenatal vitamins from Top Foods. I'm going to see about transferring it to Rite-Aid for a $30 gift card - I'll let you know!

Wal-Mart hooked me up again (oh, how I hate, yet like them) and even the cashier remarked "$3.28! That's a good day at Wal-Mart!"

I've gotten overage from coupons before, but I've never atually received it, usually I just purchase something else with my extra money. Today, I actually was given .05 to shop at Wal-Mart! I mean the manager actually came over and instructed the cashier to hand me my receipt and .05! I have been itching to use the free Thomas the Train coupon, but Toys R' Us is a bit far from here, so I decided to see if Wal-Mart would take the coupon. Yep!!!! Here's what I got at Wal-Mart today:

2 Thomas Trains - used this coupon (which they actually gave back to me) and they zeroed out the price of the item so I didn't pay tax!!! Incredible!

1 Land O' Frost lunchmeat - used this coupon

1 Gillette bodywash trial size - used the $1 off any Gillette bodywash from the paper (this is where the overage came from - read the coupon, doesn't say not on trial sizes!)

1 Kotex - used the $1 coupon from the paper (actually someone put an entire ad next to the display, so I also got a Powerade coupon!!!!

2 Oral-B Cross-Action Power Toothbrushes

At the register:

Give them your BOGO coupon from the newspaper last week (you can still do this if you don't have this coupon, just buy 1 toothbrush instead of 2)
Pay with your $5 RR from the previous transaction, plus .xx oop - get $5.50 in RR! If your RR beeps, throw in a filler item to make sure there are more items than coupons.

If you do this multiple times, make sure with the mac n' cheese transaction that you throw in a ~.50 filler so that you can use your $5.50 RR to "pay". Wags won't adjust down your RR, like CVS will with ECBs, so your total needs to be at least the amount of the RR, not including tax.

1 trial-sized Clean & Clear (this is a moneymaker, I read the coupon - no where does it say that the coupon cannot exceed the amount or that trial sizes are not included - $1.13 overage!)
2 Band-aids (used .75 printable and $5/3 newspaper coupon)
1 Johnson's Buddies soap (used $1 printable and $5/3 coupon)
1 Super cute froggie soap dispenser, marked down to $4.98 and perfect for my baby's bathroom!

Total: $3.94, put it on my gift card from the diaper promo, so actually $0.00 oop! If you have one of these $5/3 coupons, they are awesome!!!!

A little more oop than I would have liked, but still pretty good since we can always use diapers and I forgot my Band-aid coupons!

Albertsons:

GM cereals are $1.19 when you buy 2 gallons of milk (any kind of milk - organic, soy -do they really have gallon soymilk?- or regular). Time to use your Silk $2.25 coupons (sorry, but the link is now dead) or Horizon organic coupons, click here. GM cereals include Curves ($1 coupons were in the last couple of papers and the March All You magazine), Cheerios - all -types (click here to search Hot Coupon World's coupon database for coupons) and more.

There is a $1 off Wild Harvest coupon in the ad. The cheapest Wild Harvest products are the canned beans, baby carrots and the lemonade.

Bertolli meals are 2/$10, with the $2.50 coupon, that makes these $2.50 each.

There is a Buy $20, save $5 instantly promo for Kelloggs. What is great about this is that it includes the Smart Start cereal which has a ton of coupons out for it (on smartsource.com - $3/2 and $1/1). Also, I went there last night and this includes the strawberry kind which is marked - Try Me Free! Makes for some cheap or free cereal

Speaking of promos, Kraft and Sara Lee are also doing a promo this week: Buy 5 products, save $5 at checkout. Supposedly, the $5 comes off of your meat or produce purchase, but I can't really see the computer being that smart.

The nice thing about this promo is that you can possibly get some free/cheap Planters nuts. Here is a coupon for $3 off of Planters, when you buy 3 Kraft products. Also, starting today (6/20) there is a catalina deal with Planters - Read about it on this thread at Hot Coupon World.

The marshmallow catalina is still going on from what I hear, so you could buy at least 3 of those for your Kraft purchase to get the $3 off of Planters and a $3 catalina, along with 6 other items in the special that you have coupons for (maybe the free Sarah Lee buns with Ball Park purchase?) Lots of possibilities!

Also, there is a Baby Care promo that could work well with the current Target coupons! My Albertson's is really close to the Target, so they will accept Target coupons (I just asked last night). You have to buy $25 worth of the following, then you get $5 off your next purchase:

Also, they are doing a Buy 3 Post cereals (3/$8), get free milk promo. Honey Bunches of Oats are included, so if you used 3 of your $2 HBoO coupons then you could get 3 boxes of cereal and a gallon of milk for $2. Not bad.

Safeway:

Sucks this week, nothing to report unless you are dying to use your mycokerewards.com free 12-pack coupons. They are Buy 2, Get 2 Free this week. I'll wait until the next B2G3 offer.

Speaking of mycokerewards - if you haven't entered in your codes from the free 12-packs that you got with some of the previous promos - wait until June 25th! They are offering double points on 12-pack codes that day! So instead of 10 points, you get 20!

Great Deals @ Target

If you got the paper this weekend, there was a great $5 off of 3 Band-aids, Tylenol, Johnson's, Neutrogena, Carefree and Stayfree products coupon. This is a Target coupon so of course you can use it with manuf. coupons! The Band-aids and the Johnson's Buddies soaps are probably your best bet for moneymakers. I may throw in some Baby Tylenol, since my little one is teething.

How to Work it @ Walgreens!

I got a nice comment from Samantha asking about how to play the Walgreens Game. Oh, how I love comments, especially nice ones! So here is what I know:

There are 2 big components to the Walgreens Game -

FAR (free after rebate) items
RR (register rewards)

Let's start with FARs since those are easier:

Every month Walgreens offers a few products that are free after rebate. This means you have to pay for them, enter your receipts online (no stamps!), claim your rebates at the end of the month (you can only do this once, so what until the end) and wait for the money to come back to you. You can find these items in the EasySaver booklets that are always at the front of the store with the weekly ads.
The great thing about FARs is that you can request your rebate to come back in the form of a gift card and you get a 10% bonus (this pays for tax in my area).

That's all fine and dandy, but nothing so exciting -right?! Here's how to make them work for you.

Try and buy FARs with a $$ off your purchase coupon. If you had used the recent $5 off a $20 purchase coupon to buy your FARs, then you would have made $5!
Find Walgreens/manuf. coupons for your FARs. This month you can make money on 3 of the FARs! The Theragram-M has a $4 coupon in the Walgreens' pharmacy coupon flyer. The ecotrin low-strength has a .75 printable here. The Multi-betic multi-vitamins have a $2 coupon here. That is $6.75 plus the 10% you are getting for putting it on a gift card! Just imagine how much if you used one of the $$$ off a purchase coupons and the FAR coupons! Free money and you aren't doing anything bad, just shopping and purchasing the products that the manufacturer wants you to buy.
Since I am a bit of a shopaholic when it comes to deals, I've found that having a FAR gift card is like my play money. I use my gift card to pay for any oop (out of pocket) from doing the next deal. When my gift card is used up then I can't play anymore until my gift card is filled up again (from the next month's FARs). Helps keep me in check.

On to the RR -

Register Rewards are like instant rebates that print off the catalina machine (next to the register tape machine, these are skinny and often have red stripes on both sides).
Every week Walgreens offers some sort of RR deal - you buy these products, you get this RR. Sometimes it's great (like the P&G deal last month), sometimes it's so-so.

How to use RR to your advantage:

Roll your RRs - use your Register Rewards to buy another deal, so it is less oop for you. The big problem is that Walgreens does not allow you to roll your RRs from a deal to do the same deal again.

Example: Last week, If I bought 2 Dr. Scholl's insoles then I would earn a $10 RR! Wow! So fun! Makes you want to do it again, right? No! If I use that $10 RR to do the same deal, then my new RRs will not print. Instead, use the $10 RR to do a Dove deal or another RR deal. That's what made last month's P&G deal so great. You could earn RRs on P&G products and there were also Venus RRs, Oreo RRs and Zantac RRs. So you could do a transaction to earn P&G RRs and then another transaction to use that RR to buy Zantac and earn RRs from that. Rolling baby!

Remember that RRs count as coupons - even though they say "Use like cash", they are considered coupons by the register.

That means you can't get cash back and you can't pay for tax with them. So, if you have a transaction that is $3.xx after tax, but the subtotal is actually $2.xx, then you can't use a $3 RR to "pay". You need a filler (small item, like clearance items or candy) to get your subtotal to $3+, then put the tax on your FAR gift card.
That also means that they can cause you to have too many coupons! Walgreens' registers have this weird thing that you must have more items than coupons. Example: I buy 3 items, 2 of them have coupons, then when you go to "pay" with your RR, the register will beep, you need a filler item in order for the register to accept your RR.

Lastly, this is the order that I give my coupons to the cashier (and I always give one at a time!):

$$ off of purchase coupon
Walgreens coupons (from the weekly ad or the EasySaver catalog)
Manufacturer's coupons
RRs

Rite-Aid:

More FREE band-aids (actually Nexcare, not Band-Aid!). Children's Nexcare bandages are .99 and there are 2 different $1 coupons from past papers. I even have one from the insert that is mailed to me with my grocery ads.

There is a Rite-Aid coupon in the ad for $2 off Airborne, you can stack that with the $2 coupon here. Not sure what the final price will be, but if you use Airborne a lot... Also, you can get a free sample here.

Free after Rebate (FAR):

Diapermate Disposable Diaper Bags
Fujifilm QuickSnap One-Time Use Camera
Organix Shampoo or Conditioner
Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Shampoo or Conditioner (try and find the specially marked ones for a free pedicure/manicure)

Walgreens:

Oral-B Cross Action Power Toothbrush or Refill - free after RR (Register Rewards). Normally wouldn't be so, so exciting, but there is a coupon for BOGO in this week's ads! So you pay $5.50 and get 2 toothbrushes or 2 refill packs and then get a $5.50 RR.

Remember - you cannot use the RR you earn to do the deal again. It won't print the new RRs. You have to pay again and then get new RRs. That is the big bummer with Walgreens - you can't roll the RRs on the same deal.

Hershey's Candy is 2/$3 with EasySaver coupon - look for the movie ticket ones!

Cottonelle Fresh wipes are 2/$4 with Wag. coupon - If you did the P&G deal last month then you probably have a ton of the $1 off catalina coupons for this making it = $1 each. Also, save your receipts because these earn money on Caregiver's Marketplace.

Beach towels are 3/$10 - that's not a bad price if they are actually big.

Buy Huggies Diapers or Pull-ups and Little Swimmers and earn $2 RR - not a great deal, but it does mean that the diapers and Little Swimmers are on sale. There are $1 coupons for Huggies from the paper a little while ago and Little Swimmer coupons here.

I was hoping for some Super Coupons from Safeway to make up for the super lame sale week (did you notice that I didn't post any Albies or Safeway deals this week!), but no such luck.

Fred Meyer:

If you still have your Ken's dressing coupons, they are 2/$3, so you may actually make a little $$.

Bertolli dinners are $5.99 and may be a good place to use your $2.50 coupons.

Oh, and hot dog buns are .39, may need to pick up a few to go with my Albie's hot dogs (not sure why I am loving the hot dogs right now - sorry mom!)

So, I had totally spaced about this deal until BeCentsAble reminded me: Buy $100 worth of Dockers clothing at Sears through 6/15 and get a $75 gas card. Pretty great return! Slyly, I asked my hubby if he needed new work clothes - yep! So, I got to run out and go shopping sans baby. Of course, I needed to make a quick stop at Rite Aid and met my new favorite manager. Here's the rewind - last week I went to my local Rite Aid and the cashier told me that they don't take internet coupons - what? Since when?!!! So, I went to another Rite Aid that is on the way to the mall and the manager was happy to take all of my coupons, even remarking "these are great coupons!" One of them even beeped and I was totally willing to veto that coupon (it was for $3 off a Similan product, but showed a picture of a different product than the one I was buying), but he went ahead and took it because "it's the same company, they just want you to buy any of their products". Are you kidding me? I love Manager Rob! Plus, this same Rite-Aid tends to employ younger kids that obviously hate their job and are pretty vocal about it. Totally cracks me up. I just love the super sarcastic teenage boy that rang up my purchases last week and said "you got a good deal" and in the same breath "I wish I wasn't working today, actually everyday I wish that". Hilarious.

Back to the pants, I went to Sears, bought 2 - $100 transactions (the limit is 1 per person, but 2 per household) worth of great work clothes for my hubby. Yes, the oop is pretty darn high, but we would be buying this stuff anyway and we can definitely use the gas cards! So spent $200, but will get $150 worth of gas cards. And yes, many of the Dockers clothes are on sale.

I used my $5/$20 coupon so the total was $10.97 and I should get back - $10.98 in rebates!

2 Walgreens aloe gels = $5 (totally useful since I burn at least once a year)

I used my $5/$20 coupon so the total was $12.45 and I should get back - $14.78 in rebates!

New Walgreens Coupon for Friday 6/13 Only!

Here is the link to the $5/$20 purchase coupon to use tomorrow at Walgreens (thanks SlickDeals for the heads-up). It has some new wording in it to possibly preclude us from using manuf. coupons after the $20 total. My guess is that it will depend on your store. Remember that the $20 total is always after Walgreens coupons, but not necessarily after manuf. coupons - we'll see!
Here are a couple of scenarios:

Transaction #1:

Buy 2 Dr. Scholl's insoles = $20
Use $5/$20 purchase coupon = $15
Use 2- $2 coupons from here = $11
Get $10 RR

Total oop = $11 + tax, but you get $10!

Transaction #2:

Buy $15 of Dove or Jergens & Buy $5 worth of FAR items =$20
Use $5/$20 purchase coupon = $15
Use any of the coupons that we have gotten recently in the paper = total will vary
Receive $5 RR and $5 back from your FAR item

Total oop = will vary depending on what items you buy and your coupons!

Transaction #3:

Buy 2 Nivea for Men & & $10 worth of FAR items = $20
Use $5/$20 purchase coupon = $15
Use 2 - $1 coupons here or 2 - $2 coupons here = $11 or $13
Receive $5 RR and $10 for your FAR items

Total oop = $11 or $13 + tax, but you'll be getting $5 RR and your rebate money back!

Transaction #4:
If you don't want to fight for the coupons:

Buy $20 worth of FAR items = $20
Use $5/$20 purchase coupon = $15

Total oop = $15 +tax, but receive $20 back in rebate money!

I may also be picking up some more diapers since this rebate deal ends 6/15 and I have some $1 coupons to use still.

I really love mail. It just makes me happy to have stuff in my mail box. Not sure why, it's just always been that way. So here are a few of the freebies that I have gotten lately - most came in the mail except for the undies which I picked up free from Macy's!

Here's my haul from Albertson's today. I just couldn't let this sale end without hitting it one more time. Plus, the Band-aid coupons that I ordered showed up!

11 Band-aids - $1 each (used the $1 off coupons from Sunday's paper!)
1 Greased Lightning cleaner - $2.99 (should have been $2.50, but I had a coupon for $1.50 off from the All You magazine)
2 Kraft pasta salads - $1 each (used .50 peelies on the box)
1 Silk soymilk - $2 (totally forgot to use my coupon, otherwise I would have made money on this!)
1 Asian Sensations eggrolls - $2 (used a .75 coupon from the paper, just wanted to try 'em!)
2 Ball Park franks $2 each (used $1 coupon from Smartsource)
1 Sara Lee hot dog buns $2 (free after the coupon for buy 2 Ball park, get free buns)
1 Albertsons wheat French bread $1.99 (free after a coupon they gave me from taking a survey)

Total: $6.97 (should have been $4.22 if everything had rung up correctly and I had remembered the coupon that was in my pocket!)

I Actually Eat Pretty Healthy

I'm sure that many of you think that I live off of Honey Bunches of Oats and Chex Mix, but I want to make sure that you are aware that I actually eat quite a few fruits and veggies. We have an organic veggie delivery service that drops off yummy fruits and veggies biweekly. It is true that most coupons are for snack food and cereal, but there are ways to use lots of coupons and still feed your family well. I believe in saving money where you can - using coupons, playing the drugstore game, getting free-bates, etc., but there are a few things that are important to me:

Organic milk - especially as a woman with a young daughter, I think that buying dairy products from cows treated with large doses of antibiotics and hormones is a bad idea. So, we spend some of our money that we save to buy organic milk. Although, we drink a whole lot of soymilk instead of milk.

Organic fruits and vegetables - I make a lot of the baby food that my daughter eats and so it is very important to me that I use organic whenever possible. We love our delivery service - Terra Organics. We pay $25 every other week for a ton of fruits and veggies. Chances are there is a local farm that offers a farm share or a delivery service in your area. Try the CSA site for more info.

Organic/natural meat - Our local meat shop, which only sells natural beef (no hormones), has packages available for a discount. Many of the items in the packages they sell did not interest me, so I asked if I could make my own package with the things that we wanted. Yep! So I am supporting a local business and stocking my freezer with good meat for a very good deal.

It's A Lean Week For Deals

I may be skipping most shopping this week, since there is not a lot that I'm super excited about. Here's what I see:

Walgreens:

Band-Aids are .99, so if you use the $1/1 coupons from last week's paper = free. SmartSource just put up some .75/1 coupons so then they are only .24. I will probably be getting my free band-aids at Albertsons since they are $1 there (until Tuesday) and thus, the cashiers don't have to adjust the coupon. If the coupon beeps and your cashier won't take the coupon because it is over the price of the item, your best bet is to ask the cashier to adjust the Band-aid price to $1, then scan the coupon.
Hershey's Chocolate is 2/$3, so if you can find some of the movie tix bags, this is an okay deal. 3 bags = 1 movie tix, so your best bet is probably to buy 6 bags and get 2 tix.
Reynolds Wrap is .89 and there are coupons out there for .55/1
Nivea Men skincare is 2/$10 w/ a $5 RR, here is the link to $1/1 coupons
Buy $10, get $2 RR or Buy $15, get $5 RR when you buy Dove lotion, hair and skin care, deodorant, soap, Walgreens sun care or sunscreen, Jergens Natural Glow, etc. There are lots of coupons for Dove and Jergens from the last few papers, but nothing is jumping out at me for an amazing deal!
This may be a good one: Samy Hair Care - buy 2, get $5 in RR. There are $2 from a super old paper (I don't have these), but there are also coupons for $2/1 in the Beauty the RITE Way booklet at Rite Aid. The coupons say manuf. coupons, so you could potentially use them at Walgreens. Then, with coupons, you would spend $3.98 for $5 in RR.
If you need insoles - Dr. Scholl's Insoles are 2/$20, then you get $10 RR. Here's a $2 off coupon for the massaging gel kind.
Here are the June FAR items - pretty random.

Again, nothing that I'm racing out to get.

Grab the $30 prescription Gift Card coupon

A great post by Mommy Making Money started me thinking about cheap birthday gift ideas and I love the caddies, cases and bubble totes that Michaels has on sale this week for $1.99-$2.99. They would be super easy to decorate and fill with art supplies, baby stuff, or small toys. Cheaper than a gift bag in some cases and totally cute!

Speaking of Target - I picked up 2 bottles of the specially marked Herbal Essences conditioner that you can redeem for a free manicure/pedicure using a Target coupon and a manuf. coupon = .99/both. They don't list the participating salons on the bottle or on the website, you just have to wait for it to show up in the mail (I especially love the part where it states "may require driving a long distance". So, being the super nice blogger that I am (note: 3 more bags of marshmallows that I didn't need, just wanted to see if the catalina still printed) I put in all my info and I'll report back when I receive the list of salons. This offer is valid until 12/31/08, but you have to buy the specially marked bottles.

If you haven't visited A Full Cup's Target coupon generator, you are missing out! You can print multiple copies on one piece of paper and save some trees. The best thing about Target coupons is that they are store coupons, so you can use them and a manuf. coupon = great savings!

A few highlights:

Free $5 Giftcard when you buy Pampers diapers and wipes
$5 off when you buy Pampers diapers and wipes (there were coupons for $2/2 Pampers products in the last paper)
$1 Colgate Total (there are a ton of $1.50 off coupons for this product, so it should be free or almost free)
$2/2 Morningstar Farms products (again, there are coupons out there for this too!)
$5 off a $25 toy purchase (great for buying birthday presents)

Amazing times at Albertsons:

Transaction #1:

2 - Ball Park Turkey Franks $4 (used 2 - $1 coupons that I had saved)

1 - Ball Park Hot Dog Buns $2 (used the free buns blinkie found at the Turkey Franks - note: they were out of the Sara Lee buns which were supposed to be used for this coupon, but they let me substitute!)

1 - Kraft Pasta Salad $1 (used the .50 peelie on the box)

3 - Jet-Puffed Marshmallows $3 (I know I said I was stocked up, but I thought I would try for the $3 coupon - yep!)

1 - York candy .50 (needed a .50 filler, so that I could get my total to $3)

After the automatic $3 off from the promo, my coupons, and the $3 off from buying 3 marshmallows the last time I was there, my total was .............. $0.00! So awesome and I got another catalina for $3 off my next purchase, which was...

Transaction #2 (I love the self-scan lines):

1 - Clorox Everywhere Spray $2.50 (No coupon I just love this stuff and I couldn't find the other cleaner that I did have a coupon for)

1 - LiveActive Cereal $2.50 ($3 printable, that they had to adjust down to $2.50, but still a moneymaker with the automatic $3 discount)

2 - Kraft Salad Dressings $5 (.75/2 coupon from the paper, plus a tearpad coupon that I had found last trip for $1 off of produce when you buy 2 Kraft dressings)

Bananas $1.43 (used $1 coupon from above)

After the $3 off promo, my coupons, and the $3 catalina that I just got in the 1st transaction = $1.40

I also remembered while I was there that Albertsons has their Band-Aids on sale for $1, so you can get free band-aids with the $1 off coupons in the last paper! Walgreens will have them on sale next week, but they will be .99, which causes the coupon to beep and the cashier to have issues.

I also seem to remember that Silk soymilk is on sale, so it may be the time to use your $2.25 coupons.

Return Your BPA Bottles - It's True!

I was waiting to post about this until I made sure that it was true - yep, you can return your used baby bottles to Babies R' Us for store credit! In an effort to phase out BPA-laden bottles, Babies R Us is taking your bottles back! I just went today and they rang them through and handed me a gift card - awesome! I did not have a receipt, but I did have the original box, so that made it go a little quicker. I had called first because it is a little bit of a drive from my house and they had said yes they will take them back. See Freebies 4 Mom's post for more info. The bottles that I returned were Avent brand.

While you're there use this $5/$25 coupon - good through 6/8.

My friend Kate reminded me of this freebie (pictured above), which I actually just received in the mail - super nice bottle! It's a Playtex BPA-Free Drop-In Bottle w/ 5 inserts! So replace your old bottles with a nice, free one!

A Good Grocery Week!

I was a bit bummed with the ads on Sunday, there were a few good deals, but Walgreens especially has been holding out! So, I was pretty happy when I got the grocery ads in the mail today - Safeway and Albertsons have some good stuff!

Note - I added some links to some great coupons on the left hand side of the blog - this would be a great week to use those Honey Bunches of Oats coupons! The coupons work on any kind of HBofOs, not just the chocolate kind.

Safeway:

You can still use the Super Coupons from Sunday's ad (they are good until 6/7) and make money on your HBofO!
Tava - Super coupon and coupon here and here (must buy 3) = .48/3
I will be using my 2 free Coke 12-pack coupons since this week is Buy 2, Get 3 free = 5 free 12-packs!
I am also excited about their organic produce deals: $1.99/lb for organic tomatoes and $1/lb for organic broccoli.
There is also a small thing about buying 3 Hallmark cards and getting a 12-pack of Pepsi or Mtn. Dew bottles, not as good as this deal - but keep your eyes open for an overlap!

Albertsons:

I really like it when Albertsons has one of their buy x$$$, get x$$ off instantly. This week it is buy $10 worth of products, get $3 off instantly at checkout - here are few of the ones included (Kraft, Post, Glad products mostly):

HONEY BUNCHES OF OATS! - after the $3 off and coupons on the sidebar = you make .25! (Not as good as Safeway's super coupons, but there is no limit to this deal)
LiveActive Cereal - after the $3 off and the coupon on the sidebar = you make $1.25!
Zatarain's Rice - there is a coupon in the insert with the ads - .75/2 = okay deal
Ball Park Franks - I printed off some $1 off coupons from smartsource.com, but didn't see them anymore when I went to check for this post.
Marshmallows - are .70 after the $3 off = pretty good deal so you can make some HBofO treats! Try buying 3 of these at a time - there may be a catalina for $3 off your next order that prints. I'm not sure that this deal is still active and I'm totally stocked up on marshmallows right now.
Clorox Anywhere Bleach Spray is $1.75 after the whole deal, I love this stuff for cleaning Fiona's toys. Yes, I know that I could probably make it myself, but I don't.

If You Need Razors

I went to Target to try out the razor deal that they have advertised: Buy 2 Venus Embrace or Gillette Fusion razors and get a $10 Target gift card. There are $4 coupons off of the Fusion razors in the P&G insert this week, pretty good deal then. There are also $2 off Venus P&G coupons and $2 off Venus Target coupons so I used a few batches to do the following:

Transaction 1:

2 Fusion Razors = $15.98

2 - $4 Fusion coupons = -$8

= 7.98 + tax oop and a $10 gift card

Transaction 2:

2 Venus Razor gift packs = $18.88

2 - $2 Target Coupons = -$4

2 - $2 P&G coupons = -$4

Used $10 Gift card to pay = .88 + tax oop and another $10 gift card

Transaction 3:

2 Venus Razor gift packs = $18.88
2 - $2 Target Coupons = -$4
2 - $2 P&G coupons = -$4
Used $10 Gift card to pay = .88 + tax oop and another $10 gift card

So with tax, I paid $10.60 oop, but I still have a $10 gift card to use! Would have been the best deal if I had a Target gift card to start with (maybe from transferring a prescription?) Thanks to Mommy Making Money for the heads-up.

I used my 2 BOGO coupons with Safeway's B2G2 promo = 4 - 7up free

Used 2 Honey Bunches of Oats coupons and the Safeway super coupon = made $$

Used the $1 that I made on the cereal + 2 - $1.50 coupons and Safeway super coupons = 2 free toothpastes!

Also, both the toothpaste and cereal counted at regular sale price towards my $40 needed to get 2 free movie tix. So, after a lot of baby food (we like the O Organics kind) I got 2 free movie tickets!

Rite Aid Run

Huggies diapers - Free from previous rebate through Rite Aid (and a slightly slow manager who pretty much just gave them to me, the cashier just laughed)

So the $1.20 that I will make back after the rebates is after tax! Pretty good for stuff that I will actually use!

Grab the $30 gift card with a transferred prescription coupon from the Rite Aid ad. Even if you don't use it at Rite Aid, other pharmacies will accept it. I mean $30 for picking up a prescription - awesome! Collect these and leave them in your car for your next pharmacy run. Great way to get free money.

There is a moneymaker on shave gel if you have a lot of coupons (AKA you ask all your buddies for their coupons this week):

Buy 10 Gillette Series or Satin Care Shave Gels = $20, this qualifies you for the $5 RR
then use the Walgreen's $1 off coupon in their June coupon book = -$10
then use 10 of the .55 coupons from this Sunday's P&G insert = -$5.50
so you spend $4.50, but make $5 in RR (great deal if you can get this many coupons and really need shave gel!)

Free Glucose monitor with mail-in rebate/possible money-maker if you use the coupon from this week's paper

There are quite a few random Free After Rebate items this month, read this post for more info - I'm not too excited about these items - so I will not be picking them up unless I can make money on them and then I'll just donate them to the food bank.

Safeway -

They are still running the Flicks for Free promo (buy $40 worth of specially marked stuff, get 2 free movie tix)
Some of their super coupons are part of this promo, so they should help get your total up to $40 which you can then knock down using some of these coupons:

Colgate toothpaste is 2/$4 use 2 of the Colgate coupons and pay only $1/2
Prego is 2/$2 with the super coupon, but is probably more like $2 each towards your $40 total

Other good deals:

Use your Honey Bunches of Oats coupons with the Super coupon on the back and make .50 with each box!
Nature Valley Granola Bars are 4/$6 use with this .65 coupon

Today I just received 2 coupons in the mail for free 12-packs of Coke. How in the world did I score more free pop? I entered the codes on mycokerewards.com from my other free soda that I got at Safeway earlier and then redeemed my points for the free 12-pack coupons. I will be saving them until there is another BOGO offer and thus doubling my free pop!

Rough day at Walgreens yesterday - partly my fault, partly the cashier's issues. All said and done here's how I did:

After rebates = $14.22

Three transactions with my $10/$30 coupons:

6 packs of Huggies = 240 diapers

9 packages of Hersheys = 3 free movie tickets

2 titanium razors

3 Chex mix

1 cold sore treatment (finishing up May's Free Rebate items - anyone need this?)

4 padded mailing envelopes - it saves me a ton of money to have these around the house.

Not bad, since that many diapers costs $40.99 @ Costco, but man was I having issues with coupons and everything ringing up okay. Not the smoothest day, but we're stocked up on diapers!

Life Under Construction has a great idea for the Walgreens coupon today - since today and tomorrow are the only days that the May ESR and June ESR catalogs overlap you can take advantage of coupons/rebates from both. Here's her idea:

Buy 9 bags of Hershey's miniatures (the ones that are specially marked w/ movie points on them)

Use the $1/2 coupon from the June booklet to make these $1.50 each = $13.50 (so you'll still need $16.50 worth of other merchandaise to use your $10/$30 coupon).

Send in for the $5 May ESR rebate.

Send in your points to earn 3 free movie tickets from Hershey's!

So you spend $8.50 for 3 movie tickets and lots of chocolate to bring to the movies!

Here's a weird one for you - Wishbone is offering a free bottle of their Bountifuls dressing, but only via rebate with a purchase between 5/30-6/1. I have a coupon (this will cover my stamp and envelope) from an earlier paper, so I will be taking advantage of this slightly random offer.
